Editing criteria for the publication of articles in Anastasis, Research in Medieval Culture and Art
We publish articles which have never before been published. Only in exceptional situations do we republish an article which has already appeared in a publication.
Manuscripts should not be currently under consideration with another journal.
The opinions expressed in published articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the opinion of the editors, or members of the editorial board.
All submissions should be prepared for blind reviewing. Papers are refereed by two anonymous reviewers. The refereeing period is 3 months. Authors will be notified by email if their text is accepted for publication, recommended for revision, or rejected.
Language:
All articles must be written using an international language such as English,
French, German, Spanish, or Italian, and submitted via email to the relevant editor/s.
Title Page:
All submissions should be prepared for blind reviewing: the authors should write the title of article (in English and in original language), their name, position, affiliation and contact information (including e-mail address) on a separate page. This title page should be separated from the main body of the manuscript and sent as a separate Word document.
Abstract and Key Words:
The texts shall be accompanied by an aproximately 200 words summary written in English, 10 point font size, single spaced, altogether with its title translated into English. In addition, 6 to 8 English keywords need to be used in the summary.
Length of Texts:
The text of the article should be 4 000-12 000 words for articles and 1 000-2 000 words for book reviews.
Text Formatting:
The text must be attached and sent in a Word Document format (.doc), B5, edited using the Times New Roman font, 11 point font size for article, single spaced, 9 point font size for footnotes, single spaced.
Images:
It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure they have copyright clearance to use images. The illustrations are either to be inserted in the text or they shall be attached at the end of the article, or else submitted separately as a .jpg, .png or similar file, preferably with minimum of 1080 pixels on the long edge, at 72dpi., being denoted by Fig. 1, Fig. 2…or Il.1, Il. 2…In the text, the references for the illustrations will be made between brackets, indicating their number, e.g. : (Fig.4 or Il.4 ).
List of illustrations:
All articles with illustrations will be accompanied by a List of illustrations, with details and sources of illustrations, written using Times New Roman 10.
Citations and List of References:
References should be given only in footnotes, Times New Roman font, size 9.
Footnotes:
Book: author – surname, first name, Title of the original, publisher, city, date
of publication, translator, Title of the translated edition (where needed), publisher,
city, date of publication, quote page.
Article in a volume: author – surname, first name, Title of the article in
original, in the edition…, Title in the original, publisher, date of publication,
translator (where needed), Title of the translated article, in the edition – Translated
title, publisher, city, date of publication, pages in which the article is given, quote
page.
Magazine article: author – surname, first name, “Title of the article”, in “title of the daily”, number
/ date of publication, (publisher), page(s).
WEBSITE: author– surname, first name, Title, date of publication, name of the website, date of
the downloading.
List of References:
All references must be in alphabetical order of surnames.
Book: author – surname, first name, Title of the original, publisher, city, date
of publication, translator, title of the translated edition (where needed), publisher,
city, date of publication, quote page.
Article in a volume: author – surname, first name, “Title of the article in
original”, in the edition…, Title in the original, publisher, date of publication,
translator (where needed), “Title of the translated article”, in the edition – translated
title, publisher, city, date of publication, pages that contain the article.
Magazine article: author, “Title of the article”, in “title of the daily”, number
/ date of publication, (publisher), pages that contain the article.
WEBSITE: author– surname, first name, Title, date of publication, name of the website, date of the
downloading.
All the references in the footnotes must be found in the ending
bibliography list and vice-versa.
Quotes that are less than 3 lines long can be written inside the main text.
The quotes exceeding 3 lines must be written separately, with a font size of
10, without any quotation marks, Paragraph Indent left text of 5 mm, Indent right
text of 5 mm, Spacing before 6 pt, Spacing after 6 pt.
