Anastasis. Research in Medieval Culture and Art is an open access journal. Articles are available free of charge as PDF on our website, www.anastasis-review.ro. Under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial license, the authors and users are free to share (read, download, copy, distribute, transmit, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose.
Anastasis. Research in Medieval Culture and Art does not require article processing charges (APCs), article submission charges or other hidden charges.
Anastasis. Research in Medieval Culture and Art publish articles which have never before been published. Only in exceptional situations do we republish an article which has already appeared in a publication.
Manuscripts should not be currently under consideration with another journal.
The opinions expressed in published articles are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the opinion of the editors, or members of the editorial board.
Anastasis. Research in Medieval Culture and Art takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices.
The Author(s) warrant that the article submitted is an original work and that has not been published previously; the Authors(s) should ensure that the manuscript meets the terms of the Guidelines for Authors regarding appropriate academic citation and transliteration and that no copyright infringement occurs; The Authors(s) should inform the editors about any errors they subsequently discover in their manuscript. Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process and cooperate fully by responding promptly to editors’ requests for raw data, clarifications, and proof of ethics approval, patient consents and copyright permissions. In the case of a first decision of “revisions necessary”, authors should respond to the reviewers’ comments systematically, point by point, and in a timely manner, revising and re-submitting their manuscript to the journal by the deadline given.
The Editors and the Editorial Board of Anastasis. Research in Medieval Culture and Art evaluate submitted manuscripts in the process of internal peer review exclusively on the basis on their originality, significance and relevance to the domains of the journal; The Editors must at all times respect the confidentiality of any information pertaining to the submitted manuscripts: editors and editorial staff will not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. Editors and editorial board members will not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the authors’ explicit written consent. The Editors assign the review of each manuscript to two anonymous reviewers who are chosen according to their domains of expertise; The Editors must take into account any conflict of interest reported by the authors and the reviewers. Every reported act of unethical publishing behavior will be looked into, even if it is discovered years after publication. If, on investigation, the ethical concern is well-founded, a correction, retraction, expression of concern or other note as may be relevant, will be published in the journal.

The Reviewers assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communications with authors, may assist authors in improving their manuscripts. The Reviewers must at all times respect the confidentiality of any information pertaining to the submitted manuscripts; Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for the reviewer’s personal advantage. The Reviewers must objectively evaluate the manuscripts based only on their originality, significance and relevance to the domains of the journal; The Reviewers must in due time supply clear, objective and relevant comments and recommendations meant to improve the content of the submitted manuscript;Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. A reviewer should notify the editors of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other manuscript of which they have personal knowledge. The Reviewers should inform the Editors about any conflict of interests.
